Description

This is a classic expression of Saint-Émilion, with aromatic Cabernet Franc, plush Merlot and the firm elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine offers aromas of ripe plums, orange peel, and savory herbs on the nose with a bouquet of red fruit on the palate. The voluptuous fruit, layered with stony, mineral notes, reflects the terroir where it was grown. Firm tannins and balancing acidity give this wine structure to age gracefully for years to come.

On the nose of this Bordeaux red wine blend, the richness of merlot complements the extravagance of cabernet franc. After aeration, the bouquet develops subtle notes of cassis and violet. The palate explodes with silky round red and black fruit, while the finish is dominated by black fruit with barely perceptible rounded tannins.

RECENT TASTING NOTES
Amazing aromatics - very fruit forward on the nose full of blackcurrant, black cherry and black pepper. The strawberry, raspberry and cranberry fruit absolutely sings in the glass, punchy with excellent clarity and soft plushness. Silky tannins, barely there except to give a mineral, wet stone texture which is to the fore. It’s profound in terms of depth of flavour - vertical and structured, but not heavy or exuberant with freshness and focus keeping it lifted and graceful. Well balanced, harmonious and full of classicism in the best sense. This is the 19th vintage for winemaker Pierre Seillan, whose son will now take the helm. No chaptalisation needed here. 3.64pH. Ageing in 70% new oak. Drinking Window 2026 - 2040.
