Description

Anderson Valley, best known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, also boasts a tiny bit of Syrah. Here, it produces elegant, structured wines with fresh flavors of blackberry, plums, dark cherries and black pepper framed by moderate, smooth tannins. Evocative of the terroir-driven Syrah of the northern Rhône, this wine pleases with layers of exotic spice, earth, and violet floral notes that play over a long finish.

Fleshy mouthfeel with chalky tannins gives this wine great posture and balance.

RECENT TASTING NOTES
California Syrah: top Mendocino County winesInitially muted aromas, so give it time in the glass. The palate is reminiscent of a barbecue with charred earthy mesquite wood notes and grilled black fruit flavours. Energetic on the finish, carrying through the meaty, roasted elements that eventually express themselves on the nose.
