Description

Produced by winemaker Kristy Melton and winemaker emeritus Ted Edwards, this 97-point wine is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black currant and boysenberry lift from the glass. These dark fruit flavors repeat on the palate, accompanied by notes of forest floor, cigar box, dark chocolate and espresso. This wine spent more than two years aging in mostly new French oak, creating the perfect amount of complexity with hints of baking spice and warm vanilla. The result? A rich, balanced wine with a lingering finish. While you can sip and savor this wine now, we recommend cellaring it for a few years more before drinking. Only 2,000 cases made.

RECENT TASTING NOTES
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sycamore is dense and authoritative. Sycamore is a bit warmer and less vigorous than Bosché. The site naturally yields smaller berries that produce a Cabernet endowed with tons of sumptuousness, breadth and power. Ripe red cherry, red plum, licorice, menthol, spice, graphite and dried herbs infuse the Sycamore with tremendous complexity. It is such a gorgeous and complete wine.
