The combination of Yangarra’s rare iron-laden geology, a rock star winemaker and old Shiraz vines make this wine a show stopper. Every critic on Earth agrees that the Shiraz from this estate is uncommonly, wildly good. Black currant, smoked meat, autumn leaves and cracked pepper flood through the wine, culminating in an endless loop of a savory, walnut-laden palate that promises everything a great Shiraz should: huge depth and immense satisfaction.
Devoted to Southern Rhone varieties, Yangarra’s Grenache and Shiraz are revered around the world as pinnacles of the style from McLaren Vale. Led by Winemaker Peter Fraser since 2000, the winery began its path to organic and biodynamic farming in 2008 and gained certification through Australia Certified Organic in 2012. With a sensitive hand in the winery, the Yangarra approach is aimed at enhancing purity of expression in the wines as a confident reflection of the land.
