French for footbridges, Passerelles is an exploration of the wines found along the opposing banks of France's longest river (634 miles) — the Loire. The name evokes the many bridges that connect winegrowers and wine lovers in this historic river valley. The Loire is considered to produce the most superb values and varietal diversity to be found anywhere in the world, from its racy Sauvignon Blanc and mineral-driven Chenin Blanc to its supple Gamay, earthy Pinot Noir, and robust Cabernet Franc. This is our first foray into the Loire region, and we are thrilled to deliver these gems directly to your doorstep.

Love the Loire Valley
The Loire Valley is affectionately called “The Garden of France” due to its abundance of vineyards, fruit orchards, and vegetable fields. The region has mild weather during the growing season, many of the most sought-after soils in the wine world, gentle hillsides, and many smaller tributaries leading to the long expanse of the Loire. The resulting wines overdeliver on quality—pure and inviting expressions of this storied river valley.
FUN FACTS
1. In Touraine Oisly, the royal court took up residence in the Loire Valley in the 16th century, leading to the region’s production of quality wines (a king’s gotta drink the good stuff, right?). Today, just seven producers make up the entire AOC.
2. Did you know that Sancerre once produced primarily red wine? After the pesty insect, phylloxera, decimated the vines in the 1860s, the region shifted to Sauvignon Blanc.
3. The wines of Anjou were served at the royal court in England after Henry Plantagenet became King Henry II of England in 1154.
