Description
This Cabernet “captures” the bold terroir of Captûre’s estate vineyard, situated at a jaw-dropping 2,866 feet in the Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak AVA. The wine is a blend of the vineyard’s finest blocks. Mostly Cabernet, with a splash of Merlot, it has generous, velvety mountain tannins, a unique trait of this vineyard. Classic red fruit and brambly black fruit envelop the palate on the way to an elegant, endless finish.

Impossibly dark and inky, a bouquet of freshly picked raspberry jumps out of the glass with cola spice, violets, blueberry pie, and hints of brown sugar. Rich raspberry compote, cassis, and milk chocolate notes reveal themselves on the palate.

This plush and potent Cabernet offers aromas of black plum, coffee and mint leaves on the nose. The palate brings more black fruit, fresh-cut flowers and a wealth of gripping tannin. This wine is tailor-made for hearty fare like braised beef short ribs and will improve with age for at least a decade
