Description
The Sealift vineyard is planted in what the locals term the “true Sonoma Coast”, north of the Fort Ross/Seaview AVA and just to the south of the Mendocino County border. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean provides a long, cool growing season each year. Planted at 1,200 feet above sea level, the Sealift Pinot Noir vines are planted at the fog line and are on a southwest facing aspect, giving the grapes exposure to the later, warmer sun. The loam topsoil provides excellent drainage to ensure we get concentrated fruit come harvest.

Plush and compact with a medium body that makes this youthful, nimble wine a pure joy to drink in the short term, but this wine will only become more harmonized and powerful with time.

RECENT TASTING NOTES
The 2019 Syrah Sea Lift is packed with blue/purplish fruits, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice, black pepper and mocha. Pliant and deep, with striking depth, the 2019 has a ton to offer. I imagine it will benefit from a few years in bottle, which should help the reticent aromatics open.
