This heritage-clone Chardonnay is sourced from the rugged upper reaches of Alexander Valley, between 1,600' and 1,800' above sea level. This wine opens with aromas of stargazer lily, lemon curd, brioche and a stony note in the background. On the palate, one finds Asian pear and toast notes, enveloped in a lush mid-palate and a bracing framework of acidity.
Founded in 1990 by Jess Jackson, the Legacy label was created to celebrate the past, present and future of Alexander Valley. Through the release of the finest cellar-worthy wines—a heritage clone Chardonnay, a Bordeaux-style red wine and an old-vine Petite Sirah—Winemaker Graham Weerts carries the historic estate's winemaking traditions into the next generation.
