Family-owned since 1982, Kendall-Jackson produces exceptional red, white, rosé and dessert wines from certified sustainable vineyards. Their grapes ripen atop mountains, ridges, hillsides and benchlands in California’s cool coastal regions. While known for high-quality wine, Kendall-Jackson is also proud of its “farmer’s first” philosophy, working tirelessly to protect the health of local communities and to steward the land for future generations. A visit to the main wine estate in the Russian River Valley is a must. Four bucolic acres of gardens supply fruit, vegetables and herbs for the estate’s award-winning culinary program. Winemaker Randy Ullom conducts boutique winemaking at scale with oak barrel fermentation. To imbibe a glass of Kendall-Jackson wine is to experience affordable luxury in a glass!
America’s Favorite Chardonnay
For nearly 30 consecutive years, Kendall-Jackson has produced the number one Chardonnay in the United States. The first vintage of Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay took place in 1982. One year later, the wine won the first-ever Double Platinum Award for an American Chardonnay at the American Wine Competition. Crafted in small vineyard lots throughout the entire winemaking process, the wine is fermented and aged in French and American oak barrels for richness and complexity. Additional aging on the lees, with monthly lees stirring, creates its signature velvety texture. Pair this fruit-forward, divinely complex wine with creamy pasta dishes, roast chicken or even steak with a squeeze of lemon and coarse salt. Today, Kendall-Jackson produces a full array of Chardonnays—including both oaked and unoaked versions fermented in 100% stainless steel—which are sourced from cool-climate sites as far north as Mendocino and Lake Counties down to Santa Barbara County.
